Annually in Mexico, on October 31st, people in Day of the Dead costumes walk through the streets, and cemeteries are filled with celebrations. For on Dia de los Muertos, the deceased awaken from their eternal sleep. You probably thought that the Day of the Dead was Mexican Halloween, but that's not true. Halloween is generally known as a dark celebration; the Dia de los Muertos is a cheerful and colorful party. The Day of the Dead is a celebration of life & death.
Originally, the Day of the Dead was only celebrated in Mexico, but now all of Latin America celebrates it.
