What are Directions Hair Dyes?

Directions hair dye works with direct dyes and are semi-permanent hair colors. La Riche's intensive tints quickly add colorful accents to your hair. Directions hair dye lasts well and is easy to apply. The hair colors are free of ammonia, peroxide, and PPD (p-Phenylenediamine) and are well-tolerated. Directions intensive tints only deposit their color pigments around the outer hair layer and only penetrate slightly into the hair structure.

Directions Hair Dye Application

1. First, you need to wash your hair with a pH-neutral shampoo; the Total Cleanse Shampoo is best for this. Afterward, towel dry your hair.
2. Then you should apply a fatty cream (e.g., Vaseline) or a skin oil/baby oil to your hairline, to protect against discoloration, as well as your ears. We also recommend wearing old clothes, placing an old towel around your shoulders, and putting on plastic gloves.
3. Then you can apply Directions hair dye in sections and comb it in.
4. After about 15 - 30 minutes of processing time, you can rinse out the Directions hair dye thoroughly with lukewarm water.

Tips:

• To achieve the best possible results with the light La Riche shades, pre-bleaching and possibly double toning are recommended.
• Even with natural blonde hair, we recommend a light bleach or bleaching wash, as this roughens the hair structure and allows the color to be absorbed better.
• After bleaching, it is best to wait a few days and hair washes before toning your hair with Directions, so that any remaining bleach residues are washed out.
• For protection and longer durability, we recommend the Directions Color Protection Conditioner, which you can perfectly combine with the Color Protection Shampoo.
• Directions hair dyes can be mixed with each other as desired, so you can always create new shades and nuances.

Does Directions Hair Dye Wash Out?

Directions hair dye mostly washes out after about 20 shampoos. However, especially with pre-bleached hair, color pigment residues can always remain in the hair. If you want to completely remove these remaining color pigments, it's best to use a color remover with a light bleach or bleaching wash.

Can Directions Hair Dyes Be Removed?

Yes. If you want to remove the bold Directions hair dye immediately, it's best to do a color remover with a light bleach directly after coloring. The Bleaching Powder White Fire together with the Directions White Fire Creme Activator 6%, which you can order directly in our online shop, create a light bleach that only needs to act for a short time to remove unwanted color pigments. A bleaching wash would be gentler to weaken and completely remove Directions hair dye.

Ingredients for a bleaching wash:

• 60ml warm water
• 30ml Hydrogen Peroxide 6%
• 30g Bleaching Powder
• 5ml Shampoo

Carefully mix the ingredients in a bowl, apply the mixture evenly to your hair, and massage the shampoo in with your hands. Work quickly, as the mixture takes effect immediately. The processing time is approx. 10 to 20 minutes. Then rinse your hair thoroughly and, if necessary, shampoo again with our Total Cleanse Shampoo.

Is Directions Hair Dye Harmful to Hair?

The mild semi-permanent Directions hair dyes are not as harsh as classic hair dyes or even bleaches. Of course, it's best to leave your hair naturally without colors, but that's also totally boring.
