Nail Polish & Nail Polish Remover

Colored nail polish is part of almost every beauty and carnival make-up as decorative cosmetics, but it is also repeatedly used in horror and Halloween as a special make-up effect.

During carnival, nail polish serves more as a beauty make-up accessory for both finger and toenails, beautifying them with color pigments and glitter, shine, and UV effects. In the special make-up sector, nail polish is used to make fingernails appear rotten, gigantic, or brittle. Black fingernails are particularly popular among Goth fans and in the heavy metal scene, while football fans often wear their club and national colors as nail polish.

Applying Nail Polish Made Easy

First, use a nail polish remover to remove all traces of your old nail polish, then wash your hands to ensure no residue of the nail polish remover remains. Now shape your fingernails to the desired form and length, ensuring you won't need to cut or file them after polishing. It would be a shame if your freshly polished fingernails were damaged in the process.

Step 1: Base Coat & Undercoat

Now apply your base coat, also known as undercoat. This ensures better adhesion of the color pigments and prevents the color from bleeding into your natural nail. The base coat thus blocks unsightly discoloration and is especially important if the desired color afterwards deviates extremely from your natural nail color. Now dip the brush of the undercoat into your bottle and lightly wipe it on the neck of the bottle. Now place the nail polish brush in the middle of your fingernail and draw the first stroke from near the cuticle to the fingertip. Now prime both edges, making sure that no streaks or drops form. Allow to dry thoroughly for about 10 to 15 minutes.

Step 2: Colored Nail Polish

Now shake the bottle of colored nail polish well so that all color pigments mix thoroughly, then apply the nail polish following the same principle as the undercoat.

Step 3: Top Coat & Topcoat

As a final nail polish layer, you can apply a top coat, which protects your otherwise quite delicate, colored nail polish layer and adds extra shine. Top coat nail polish is available in various variations and often includes great features like glitter, pearl, or high-gloss effects, as an extra decorative element.

Nail Polish Remover

Nail polish remover is available as a liquid, cream, or as a pre-soaked cotton pad. Nail polish remover comes in various forms and with different ingredients. The biggest difference, apart from nourishing ingredients, is the solvent it contains. Some nail polish removers contain the solvent acetone, among other things, while others do without it. Acetone-free nail polish removers are currently becoming increasingly popular and yield better results.
